Happy summer Seattle FlyDogs flyball club!

What an amazing Year 3. Thank you to all of our 2011-2012 students, MightyDogs, HotDogs, SuperDogs and Graduates. And thank you FlyDogs for making this club such a fun place to go every week. It is a special place for all dogs to learn and enjoy flyball and for their humans to have some fun too. Without all the training captains, trainers in training, box loaders, ball shaggers, equipment carriers, registration coordinators, and note takers we would not run so smoothly. When I sat down to look back it was breathtaking how many dogs we’ve met. Thank you Torey, Callie, Louis, Tiffany, Taben, Siena, Zinny, Rufus, Rhythm, Pia, Ike, Benny, Beebe, Max, Willow, Charley, Tac, Barkley, Murphy1, Ellie, Monica, Roxy, Maddie, Kaiser, Morgan, Kelso, Lucy, Wolf, Eddie, Waylon, Bean, Keira, Marty, Casey, Zoe, Troy, Meka, Emma, Dainan, Sammy, Memphis, Molly, Farrah, Bryant, Abbey, Oliver, Olive, Einstein, River, Dixie, Murphy2, Mariah, Roxyroo, Logan, Bruce, Diego, Lilly, Tana, Leela, Lola, Artemus, Star, Maude, Viking, Samantha and Doug, and I know after that list I have left someone out. Thank you all so much for a great year! We graduated 4 dogs and we have 7 SuperDogs and 2 HotDogs going into the summer break. Our latest news for students:

Abbey and Bryant are graduating soon! Olive, Oliver, Memphis and Dixie at now SuperDogs as well and all these dogs will practice passing drills with each other and the FlyDog team.

Our latest HotDog is Einstein. She flies! We only have two weeks left before summer break and we're eager to see our other HotDogs: Leela, Murphy, and Mariah continue hurdling toward their SuperDog titles.

MightyDog students include Lola and Roxyroo! They really want to be HotDogs before summer!

New students include Viking, Logan, Bruce, Diego, River, and Maude and we're eager to see them fly this fall. Just last night we welcomed three new students you'll see more of soon!

Fly Bryant Fly!

Bryant is a Seattle FlyDogs' HotDog! After 8-10 weeks of working with Bryant, he is now goaling toward SuperDog!

The FlyDogs Perform in Bonney Lake

The Seattle Flydogs had a successful Demo at Bonney Lake's "Bark In The Park" last weekend. Here are a few pictures of the dogs in action:

More Certificates and Ribbons

At last practice we handed out ribbons for NAFA titles for the first time!

We also congratulated two more SuperDogs: Maddie and Morgan who will begin practicing with the club members each week to begin their skills in passing other dogs.

And to top off the night, we awarded puppies for the first time ever, who completed the puppy program, with a Puppalicious Certificate. Congrats to Lucy and Keira! They are flying and once they are one-year old will begin jumping real hurdles!

Our club strives to create a fun environment for both the handler and the dog. If you have been thinking about lessons, there is no better time to start! We have many new students testing their skills at flyball: Eddie, Wolf, Dainan, Bean, Kelso, Bunker and Waylan! Come and join them and meet new friends!

Warm Thoughts for a Loss

It saddens me to learn and to announce that one of our very first students has suffered a great loss. Barkely's handler Davis (pictured left) and his father David (pictured below) came to the FlyDogs in 2009 when we first started our club. Barkley and Davis did very well as their father watched and cheered in support.


Last holiday season, an accident took David's life. Please send positive thoughts to his family this season. Our next practice will be in honor of David and his family. We will all miss you David.

News and Announcements

We are a little behind in our blogging. We have many new students and several who have learned to Fly! Our club went to its second NAFA tournament in December. We took two teams again: Tails on Rails and Four on the Floor - and many of the members came away with new titles. Willow, Ellie, Beebe, Benny all now have their NAFA Flyball Dog Excellent titles! It was this time last year when they all were taking classes and learning to be HotDogs!

New SuperDog! Kaiser - SuperDogs are running full runs and begin practicing with the club members to gain more experience passing dogs on an actual flyball course.
New HotDogs: Monica, Roxy, Maddie and Chelsea - HotDogs have all learned to go over the 8 jumps, retrieving the ball with excellent recall.
New Students: Keira, Lucy, Eddie and Wolf - they are learning to fly!

We move into our new location and begin our 2011 season on January 9th at Four Paw Sports in Lynnwood.
