Warm Thoughts for a Loss

It saddens me to learn and to announce that one of our very first students has suffered a great loss. Barkely's handler Davis (pictured left) and his father David (pictured below) came to the FlyDogs in 2009 when we first started our club. Barkley and Davis did very well as their father watched and cheered in support.

Last holiday season, an accident took David's life. Please send positive thoughts to his family this season. Our next practice will be in honor of David and his family. We will all miss you David.

News and Announcements

We are a little behind in our blogging. We have many new students and several who have learned to Fly! Our club went to its second NAFA tournament in December. We took two teams again: Tails on Rails and Four on the Floor - and many of the members came away with new titles. Willow, Ellie, Beebe, Benny all now have their NAFA Flyball Dog Excellent titles! It was this time last year when they all were taking classes and learning to be HotDogs!

New SuperDog! Kaiser - SuperDogs are running full runs and begin practicing with the club members to gain more experience passing dogs on an actual flyball course.
New HotDogs: Monica, Roxy, Maddie and Chelsea - HotDogs have all learned to go over the 8 jumps, retrieving the ball with excellent recall.
New Students: Keira, Lucy, Eddie and Wolf - they are learning to fly!

We move into our new location and begin our 2011 season on January 9th at Four Paw Sports in Lynnwood.

The boys, Kaiser and Troy are sailing through the full run drills now at only a few weeks into our program and our new girls Maddie and Zoe are hot on their heels! Go FlyDogs!

Demo success turns out new club dogs!

Tac, a mini Aussie veteran of flyball has joined us as a SuperDog for 2 weeks and will hopefully join us as a team member in June! Please welcome him and Kristen!

Meka, a 1-year old mini toy Aussie joined the student classes with John and Alyx and she is already flying over the jumps and retrieving the ball! WoW! Go FlyDog!

We wouldn't have met either of these wonderful dogs had we not been to the demo. Thank you to John, Alex and Kristin for coming over to talk to us! Welcome!

Another great outcome to our demo was meeting the Labradoodle breeder that we picked up a our most recent addition to the Foss family - Lucia "Lucy"! She's only 11-weeks old now and will begin her training in another 10 months! Meanwhile she chases the cat and torments Siena.

Auburn Demo was a Great Success!

It takes a whole club to put together a successful demo and we did just that! Thank you everyone who attended the Petapalooza last weekend. It was so much fun! We have another public demo June 26th at Bark in Park!

Please stand up for these SuperDogs! They will all be joining the FlyDogs at regular practice to enhance their passing skills even more! Congrats to Willow, Max, Charly and our newest duo, Joyce with Ellie!

And our newest addition to the mix, Casey the Springer Spaniel above, after only 2 lessons has the hurdles all figured out! And Gracie, the Golden is our newest passing evaluation.

Seattle FlyDogs Debut in Cloverdale

Well the time has come for our community club racers to leave the bench and make their way back into the tournament ring. This weekend, our FlyDogs, Taben and Siena who have enjoyed a long hiatus join up with class act racers, Tory and Callie in Cloverdale and with them all they bring a new FlyDog - BENNY!

Is Benny ready? Well, we're confident no dog is ever ready for their first tournament. Siena ran out of the ring on her first run in 2007. Hilarious. But, she's an old pro now - little slow - but we love her nonetheless.

We are all really looking forward to running as singles and pairs at our first ever UFLI Tournament. www.u-fli.com

Come up and see us!
